Track Coverage: Keep Your Music Live Without Renewal | ORB | Help Center

Learn how Track Coverage protects covered music after you stop renewing, its benefits and pricing, and the store rules and rights claims that still apply.

ORB Track Coverage is an optional, one-time paid add-on that protects a specifically covered release from removal solely because you stop renewing your ORB subscription. Once payment is verified and coverage is assigned to the release, subscription renewal is not required to keep that coverage—even if you stop paying for years or never renew again.

This is not an unconditional promise that a song will remain on every platform forever. Store policies, distribution requirements, copyright and ownership claims, fraudulent activity, legal orders, and requested takedowns can still affect availability.

Track Coverage is available to active Artist, Artist Plus, and Label & Team subscribers. It is not a standalone distribution plan and is not included automatically with a subscription.

What is Track Coverage?

Track Coverage is release-specific protection against subscription-expiry removal. It is a separate paid add-on, rather than ordinary subscription track credits or extra release credits.

A paid plan gives you access to its included services and track credits while the subscription is active. It does not automatically give every release permanent distribution. Verified Track Coverage provides the separate protection for the release to which it is assigned.

What are the main benefits of Track Coverage?

  • No subscription-renewal requirement for covered music: You do not have to keep renewing solely to retain the covered release.
  • A one-time coverage purchase: Already funded coverage does not require another annual or quarterly coverage payment.
  • Protection through a long subscription break: A gap of several years does not, by itself, expire the coverage.
  • Selective catalog protection: You can cover the releases you want to retain instead of assuming your entire catalog is protected.
  • Available for new and existing releases: You can add coverage while preparing a release or return to an eligible existing release and purchase it later.
  • No re-upload for an existing distributed release: Adding coverage changes its retention entitlement, not its original release identity or track identifiers. It does not create a duplicate release.
  • Transparent per-track pricing: The checkout shows the release's required track count, the volume discount, and the local-currency amount before payment.

These benefits protect against removal for subscription inactivity. They do not guarantee streams, revenue, playlist placement, or uninterrupted availability on every store.

If I do not resubscribe for years, will my covered music stay live?

Yes: subscription inactivity alone does not make verified, covered music eligible for subscription-expiry removal. You can stop renewing for three, five, ten, or more years without losing that protection merely because time has passed.

Your music remains subject to the applicable store, distribution, legal, and rights rules. A store may remove a release for a separate reason even when its Track Coverage is valid.

What if I stop paying forever and never renew my subscription?

You do not need to renew your ORB subscription to preserve Track Coverage that was already paid for, verified, and assigned to the release. Permanently stopping subscription payments is not, by itself, a reason to remove a covered release.

That is the precise meaning of coverage without renewal. It is not a guarantee that ORB, every streaming service, or a particular store listing will exist forever. Coverage cannot override platform closure, store decisions, rights problems, or lawful takedowns.

Is Track Coverage included in my paid plan?

No. Artist, Artist Plus, and Label & Team subscriptions do not automatically include permanent distribution retention. Track Coverage is an optional paid add-on for eligible releases.

If you stop renewing, releases without verified coverage remain subject to the subscription-expiry removal policy. For existing catalogs, ORB provides the applicable advance notice; check the deadline shown for the release. Never-paid Starter trial releases have their own 30-day window from approval. These are different timelines, but neither automatically provides permanent protection.

Who can buy Track Coverage?

Artists with an active Artist, Artist Plus, or Label & Team subscription can purchase and assign new coverage. Starter/Free accounts and lapsed accounts cannot buy or assign new coverage.

This purchase eligibility rule does not cancel coverage bought and assigned before your plan expired. Existing funded coverage survives the subscription lapse.

How much does Track Coverage cost?

The base price is the local-currency equivalent of €25 per track. The volume discount applies to the entire purchase:

  • 1–4 tracks: No volume discount.
  • 5–9 tracks: 5% off the whole purchase.
  • 10–14 tracks: 10% off the whole purchase.
  • 15 or more tracks: 15% off the whole purchase. The discount is capped at 15%.

For example, coverage for five tracks costs €118.75 equivalent, rather than €125, before conversion to the checkout currency. Ten tracks cost €225 equivalent, rather than €250. Fifteen tracks cost €318.75 equivalent, rather than €375.

Your server-generated checkout quote shows the payable local-currency amount and exchange-rate date. Use that quote rather than an estimated conversion. Coverage is granted only after the payment has been verified and the release has received its funded allocation.

How do I add Track Coverage while making a release?

Create and prepare your release through your eligible subscription as usual. Upload the tracks so the release's required track count is known, then open the Track Coverage add-on in the release editor.

Review the quote and complete secure checkout. If you already have enough unassigned Track Coverage credits, use the available-credit assignment action instead. After verification or assignment, check the release's coverage status before assuming it is protected.

Buying coverage does not replace release review, required metadata, audio requirements, identity verification, or store approval.

Can I buy Track Coverage for music that is already live?

Yes. While your eligible plan is active, open the existing release from your catalog and use its Track Coverage action. You can also cover an eligible approved release before it becomes live.

For an existing distributed release, you do not need to re-upload the music or create a new release just to add coverage. The original release and track identifiers are retained. Coverage must be attached to that specific release.

Does coverage for one release protect my whole catalog?

No. Track Coverage belongs to the release that receives the verified allocation. It does not automatically protect other releases, future uploads, or every track in your account.

Pricing is per track, but the release's required track count must be funded for its coverage. Do not assume that a partially funded release, a selected distribution setting, or an unused account credit balance protects the entire release. Check the funded coverage shown on the release itself.

Are ordinary extra track credits the same as Track Coverage?

No. Subscription credits, ordinary wallet-purchased extra track credits, and referral track credits provide submission capacity. They do not automatically provide permanent retention after your subscription expires.

Track Coverage uses a separate funding and allocation process. Unassigned Track Coverage credits are also not proof that every release is covered: they must be assigned to the release that needs protection.

Can I wait until my subscription expires to buy coverage?

You should buy and assign coverage while your Artist, Artist Plus, or Label & Team subscription is active, before any applicable removal deadline.

If your plan has already lapsed, you need to restore eligible subscription access before making a new coverage purchase or allocation. Existing coverage remains valid without renewal, but an expired plan does not permit new coverage purchases.

Buying coverage does not automatically restore a release that has already been removed from stores. Do not rely on a last-minute purchase to reverse a completed takedown.

Does Track Coverage prevent a copyright claim or platform takedown?

No. Coverage is not copyright clearance, an ownership certificate, insurance against a claim, or a guarantee that a store will accept or retain the music.

For example, a rights complaint may require review or evidence of permission. Unlicensed samples, disputed ownership, impersonation, prohibited content, artificial streaming, legal orders, or other policy violations can lead to restrictions or removal under the applicable rules.

A claim does not necessarily mean a release is immediately removed; its outcome depends on the review and applicable policy. Track Coverage does not override that process. It also does not prevent a takedown you request or a removal required for an unrelated legal or policy reason.

Does Track Coverage guarantee future streaming royalties or unlock premium tools?

No. Coverage protects eligible releases from subscription-expiry removal; it does not guarantee plays, earnings, or a particular payment date.

Royalty reporting and withdrawal remain subject to store reports, eligibility, verification, payment rules, and account restrictions. ORB's 0% royalty commission policy is separate from Track Coverage.

Coverage does not keep plan-only tools active after a subscription expires. To use subscription services or create additional releases, you still need the applicable account and plan eligibility.

What should I check before I stop renewing?

  • Confirm which releases have verified, assigned Track Coverage.
  • Confirm that the covered release's required track count is funded.
  • Do not treat ordinary extra credits or an unassigned balance as release coverage.
  • Read any removal notice for releases that are not covered.
  • Keep your account contact details current and respond to rights or platform requests.
  • Understand that premium subscription services can end even while covered music remains distributed.

In short: stopping subscription payments does not remove already covered music for subscription inactivity. Uncovered music remains subject to removal, and all music remains subject to rights, platform, and legal rules.
