How Royalty Splits Work on ORB Entertainment — Complete…

Learn how to set up royalty splits on ORB Entertainment to share earnings with producers, songwriters, and collaborators on your releases.

When you collaborate on a song, everyone deserves their fair share. ORB Entertainment's Royalty Splits feature makes it easy to divide streaming earnings among all contributors — producers, songwriters, featured artists, and anyone else who helped create the music. ## What Are Royalty Splits? Royalty splits let you assign a percentage of a release's earnings to each contributor. When your music generates revenue, ORB automatically calculates each person's share based on the percentages you set. For example, if a song earns ₦100,000 and you've set a 70/30 split with your producer, you receive ₦70,000 and your producer receives ₦30,000. ## Who Can Use Royalty Splits? Royalty Splits are available on the **Label Plan**. This feature is designed for labels and artist managers who need to manage revenue sharing across multiple collaborators and releases. ## How to Set Up Royalty Splits ### Step 1: Go to Royalty Splits From your ORB Artist Dashboard, navigate to **Royalty Splits** in the sidebar menu. ### Step 2: Select a Release Choose the release you want to set up splits for. You can add splits to any release in your catalog. ### Step 3: Add Contributors For each contributor, enter: - **Name** — The contributor's name - **Email** — Their email address (used for invitations) - **Role** — Their role on the release (Artist, Producer, Songwriter, Composer, Lyricist, Arranger, or Engineer) - **Percentage** — Their share of the earnings The total of all splits for a release must equal 100%. ### Step 4: Invite Collaborators When you add a collaborator's email, ORB checks if they already have an ORB account: - **If they're already on ORB**: Their split is automatically linked to their account - **If they're not on ORB**: They receive an email invitation to create an account and claim their royalty share ## How the Invite System Works When you add a collaborator who isn't on ORB yet, here's what happens: 1. **Invitation sent** — They receive an email explaining that you've assigned them a royalty share on your release 2. **They create an account** — The email includes a link to sign up on ORB Entertainment 3. **They claim their split** — After creating an account, they use the claim link to connect the split to their profile 4. **Earnings are tracked** — Once claimed, their share of future earnings is automatically credited to their ORB Wallet You can check the status of each collaborator's invitation from the Royalty Splits page: - **Invited** — The invitation has been sent but not yet claimed - **Claimed** — The collaborator has created an account and claimed their share If a collaborator hasn't responded, you can **resend the invitation** from the split's menu. ## Managing Your Splits You can edit or delete splits at any time: - **Edit** — Change the percentage, role, or contact details for any contributor - **Delete** — Remove a contributor from the split - **Resend Invite** — Send another invitation email to collaborators who haven't cl
