FRANCIS MORGAN

Francis Morgan Anomwa, professionally known as Francis Morgan, is a Nigerian multidisciplinary creative, Afrobeats/Afropop recording artist, filmmaker, thespian, creative director, entrepreneur, storyteller, and finance and strategy professional whose career spans more than a decade across music, film, theatre, television, visual storytelling, creative production, technology, finance, business strategy, and the African creative economy.

He makes his official debut as a recording artist with “Asa’m,” beginning a new chapter in a creative journey that began long before his entry into recorded music.

Francis has developed a broad creative practice encompassing acting, theatre, film production, filmmaking, cinematography, photography, video editing, creative direction, scriptwriting, special-effects makeup, talent management, production management, and live theatre and film production. His experience across both performance and production has given him an unusual understanding of storytelling from multiple perspectives, on stage, behind the camera, in the editing room, and within the wider production ecosystem.

His creative philosophy is built around storytelling: creating ideas, transforming them into experiences, and finding ways for audiences to connect emotionally with them.

That same philosophy has shaped his work beyond entertainment.

Professionally, Francis is a finance, strategy, and transformation professional with more than 10 years of experience across corporate banking, development finance, international trade, project finance, investment, business transformation, strategic communications, digital innovation, and creative-economy development. His career includes experience with FirstBank Nigeria, Bank of Industry, Euro Exim Bank, Broad Street Investment International, and Pose Nexus, among other ventures and initiatives.

At FirstBank Nigeria, Francis has worked within the MD/CEO Directorate as a founding member of the Culture Transformation Project where he led across strategic engagement, communications, systemic alignment, and organizational embedment. His work has supported enterprise-wide culture initiatives reaching more than 20,000 employees, including executive communications, employee engagement, leadership initiatives, culture activation, organizational diagnostics, and transformation programmes.

He previously served as a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking, managing commercial and corporate relationships across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, trade, construction, and industrial sectors. During that period, he originated and facilitated approval of more than ₦7.5 billion in credit and financing solutions, built deposits exceeding ₦1.2 billion in local-currency balances and US$1 million in foreign-currency balances, and executed trade finance and collections transactions exceeding ₦1.86 billion.

At the Bank of Industry, Francis served as a Relationship Manager within the Creative & Digital Industries portfolio, combining financial expertise with his deep understanding of Nigeria’s creative ecosystem. His responsibilities included project appraisal, financial analysis, investment evaluation, financing, relationship management, business development, and ecosystem engagement across creative and digital businesses. He also led the Bank’s participation at major industry exhibitions, engaging more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners.

His international experience includes work with Euro Exim Bank, supporting international business development, client relationship management, trade finance solutions, cross-border commerce, opportunity assessment, and financing structures for SMEs, corporates, financial institutions, and exporters.

Francis has also worked in investment execution and strategic project management, leading planning, stakeholder coordination, governance, operational readiness, market-entry strategies, and business-development initiatives.

His entrepreneurial and technology work includes Pose Nexus, a technology-enabled marketplace connecting customers with models, ushers, creatives, and vendors. As Strategic Program Lead for Platform Development & Growth, he has led product strategy, commercialization, technology delivery, payments, compliance, partnerships, business development, go-to-market execution, platform operations, and marketplace development. The platform includes digital booking, communication, wallet and payment functionality, vendor commerce, and administrative operations.

Francis is also the founder of FME Creative Academy, an initiative established to develop creative talent and promote youth entrepreneurship. The academy trained more than 1,000 creatives, supporting employment, enterprise development, and the growth of Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.

His creative-industry journey has therefore existed alongside his corporate and entrepreneurial career rather than separately from it. Through years of involvement in theatre, film, television, creative production, talent development, visual media, and performance, Francis has remained closely connected to the people, stories, sounds, aesthetics, and cultural experiences that define contemporary Nigerian creativity.

He has participated in and produced creative projects across theatre and film, while developing hands-on capabilities in cinematography, photography, video editing, scriptwriting, special-effects makeup, production, creative direction, and talent management. These experiences have shaped the visual and narrative sensibility he now brings to music.

THE ARTIST

As a recording artist, Francis Morgan draws from the full spectrum of these experiences.

His sound is rooted in Afrobeats and Afropop, incorporating melody, rhythm, romance, storytelling, Nigerian cultural expression, contemporary African energy, and the emotional details of everyday life.

His approach to music is intentionally personal without being confined to a single story. He is interested in making songs that can belong to an individual listener while still speaking to a wider audience—records that can be danced to, sung along with, shared between lovers, remembered years later, and experienced beyond Nigeria.

His debut single, “Asa’m,” introduces that philosophy.

The record combines an infectious Afrobeats groove with romantic storytelling and Nigerian-language expressions of affection, creating a song that is both intimate and accessible. It represents the first expression of Francis Morgan’s musical identity and establishes the foundation for the sound and stories that will follow.

For Francis, music is not a departure from his creative career.

It is an extension of it.

The same storyteller who once used the stage, the camera, the script, the edit suite, and live production now uses melody, rhythm, lyrics, and sound.

Francis’ career includes the development of creative talent through FME Creative Academy; the development and commercialization of Pose Nexus; participation in Nigeria’s creative and digital industry financing ecosystem; major stakeholder engagements through Bank of Industry exhibitions; and enterprise-level communications and culture transformation programmes at FirstBank.

His selected professional projects include the FirstBank Culture Transformation Programme, where he has supported strategic communications, executive engagement, employee engagement, and change-management initiatives; Pose Nexus Marketplace Development, involving product strategy, commercialization, payment integration and platform operations; FME Creative Academy; and Bank of Industry’s participation at the Lagos International Trade Fair and Fashion Souk.

He has also led work on digital payment infrastructure for Pose Nexus, including wallet integration, payment strategy, transaction workflows, and the development of scalable marketplace payment capabilities.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Francis holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (Economics – Educational Management) from the University of Benin.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Finance at the University of Lagos, with expected completion in 2027. He is also pursuing professional development in project management through the Project Management Institute.
